PP&E Gross Additions
Capital expenditure on Property, Plant & Equipment — latest fiscal year vs. prior. 45 companies tracked.
What it is: PP&E stands for Property, Plant & Equipment — the line on a company's balance sheet for land, buildings, machinery, and equipment. "Gross additions" is how much was added in the latest fiscal year, before subtracting depreciation. It's narrower than CapEx because it excludes software, leases, and intangibles — strictly physical infrastructure.
Why it matters: rising PP&E means new buildings, new lines, new machines — exactly when industrial sales reps want to be in front of facility managers and procurement. Flat or falling PP&E means a quieter sales cycle for that account.
